Solar Eclipse
What is it
During a new moon, the moon lies between Earth and the Sun. A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes directly between Earth and the sun, blocking sunlight from Earth. The moon's shadow then hits Earth.
Lunar Eclipse
What is it
Lunar Eclipses, During most months, the moon moves near Earth's shadows but not quite into it. A lunar eclipse occurs at a full moon when Earth is directly between the moon and the sun. During a lunar eclipse, Earth blocks sunlight from reaching the moon. Lunar eclipses occur only when there is a full moon because the moon is closest to Earth's shadow at that time.

Partial Lunar Eclipse
What it is
For most lunar eclipses, Earth the moon, and the sun are not quite in line, only a partial lunar eclipse results. A partial lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes partly into the umbra appears blurry, and you can watch it pass across the moon for two to three hours.

Throughtout history stars have been important they were used to tell time from there position and used for navigation from were they stood they were used in religious and ceremonial uses, they were thought to be immutable so astronomers grouped them into constellations.

What are they
Constellations are groups of stars that are given names. they come in shapes and patterns imagined to represent a figure, animal or object. there are different constellations for each culture in Western culture there are 88 constellations. Most constellations are named from ancient greeks they probably came from the Egyptians and Mesopotamians.
